Welcome to the website of "Ordo Maria Apostolorum", otherwise known as the Order of Marian Apostles (OMA). It is hoped that these webpages will offer you an insight into OMA, it's purpose, structure, history, etc.
In brief, the Order of Marian Apostles is an Independent Catholic Order of clergy and laity. The term ‘Catholic’, in this context, is not to be confused with Roman Catholicism – we are Catholic insofar as we belong to the universal Catholic Church of which every Christian is a member by virtue of his baptism. We are not affiliated with any particular religious denomination and are, instead, structured as a religious Order (albeit not in the traditional sense of the word), where every member is an equal.
Our Lives are perpetually centred on the message of Jesus Christ and our time, effort and talent is devoted to showing ‘by way of life’ how important it is to live Christianity instead of merely believing in it. We consider the self-righteous attitude prevalent in so many religious denominations (and, alas, in so many individuals) to be morally repugnant and in complete contradiction to the Gospels. At the foot of the Cross there are no pariahs – all are welcome to stand with Mary and John in beholding the face of Our Saviour – however great ones sinfulness or however heavy ones burden, Jesus beckons: “Come unto me”.
